Tesla shoots for Number One
With a few months delay, we have the April numbers from Finland, with a record 29 plug-ins sold that month and Tesla also beating the sales record for a single model with 16 registrations, stealing the Top Spot from the Volvo V60 Plug-In and placing pure electrics (59%) above PHEV (41%). To put things in perspective, last year it ended with 72% for plug-in hybrids vs 28% for BEV, so Tesla shook the market in more than one way...
Beyond this, sales are still pretty low compared to their neighbors, with only the aforementioned Tesla, Volvo and Nissan registering significant sales. Nevertheless, YTD sales are up 38%, so there's reason to be optimistic.
