There are different reasons why you want to share your computer screen with others. For instance you want to walk students through the process of using a certain web tool or installing an app, sharing your computer screen with them will allow them to see what you are doing right in your computer. This is also a good way to either give tech help or receive it from others. There is nothing better than watching the process unfolding right before your eyes without having to leave your computer screen. Whatever you motive for wanting to use screen sharing, this collection of web tools is definitely a good place to start with:
1- Chrome Remote Desktop
Chrome Remote Desktop allows users to remotely access another computer through Chrome browser or a Chromebook. Computers can be made available on an short-term basis for scenarios such as ad hoc remote support, or on a more long-term basis for remote access to your applications and files. All connections are fully secured.
2- Google Plus Hangout
This is one my favourite ways to screencast and record my screen. The recording you make is automatically saved to your YouTube channel where you can share it with others. Here is a step by step guide on how to record your screen using Hangout.
3- ScreencastO--Matic
ScreencastO--Matic is another wonderful web tool to use for sharing your computer screen. I have been using it for a couple of years and I really love it. ScreencastO--Matic is web based so you do not need to install anything. The recording you create can be easily uploaded to your YouTube account, Vimeo, or several other social media websites.
4-Screen Leap
Screen Leap is pretty easy to use and no software download is required. Everything works right from your browser. To start sharing your screen using Screen Leap, simply head over to their home page and click on share your screen and then share the generated code with whoever you want to see your screen.
5-Quick Screen Share
Quick Screen Share as its name indicates allows you to instantly share your screen with others. The process is very simple. Visit the site, select "your screen", type in your name and click "start. A URL will be generated for you which you can share with others to enable them to see your screen.
6- Screencastify
Screencastify is a simple video screen capture software (aka. screencast recorder) for Chrome. It is able to record all screen activity inside a tab, including audio. Just press record and the content of your tab is recorded. So you can easily create a screencast for video tutorials, record presentations etc.
