The brand's famed udon noodle has its origins in the Sanuki province of Japan, and are made from superior wheat flour, water and salt. They are then left to rest, cut and eventually kneeded to form the round-fisted Genki-Dama round chunks that has a soft pliable consistency. The technique to create the signature broth took 383 attempts with a rare sugar that is both healthy and delicious.

The first outlet was opened in Marugame, Kagawa. And since, there are nine outlets and even a branch in Taipei, Taiwan. 1 Mont Kiara KL was one of their choice locations when coming over to Malaysia.

The tempura udon that was served came with crunchy chicken and vegetables tempuras. I have to mention that Kodawari Menya served one of the nicer udons I've had in a while being thick yet springy and not soggy at all. The soup itself was tasty, which was a surprise as I saw that the soup is pretty clear. Do check them out Kodawari Menya the next time you're in the vicinity of 1 Mont Kiara.
