Apple Might Make An iPhone Mini in 2015

iPhone Mini
Small is beautiful and Apple knows this, but are they willing to do more?

There has been plenty of talk about Apple producing another, smaller handset. According to rumors, Apple is keen to build another iPhone 5c-sized handset at some point in the next 12 months in order to keep the millions of people that prefer that sized handset happy.

According to information from a Taiwanese parts supplier the iPhone Mini will feature a 4-inch display and is set to launch in 2015.

This new 4-inch model could well be a reboot of iPhone 5c model, meaning a mid-market handset aimed at the masses. The 5c – despite initial reactions from the press – turned out to be rather popular with consumers. It did not sell in iPhone 5s-like quantities, but the color options were a master stroke, so expect them to return next year should Apple reboot the line.

The iPhone 6 actually marked the end of the 4-inch display screen. The iPhone 6 Plus took it to new heights with a 5.5-inch display.

Critically the iPhone 6 display has been well received - it seems Apple is not all that confident in the new size though. Rumors suggest the iPhone Plus range will continue as well as the flagship size, that may mean everyone will see three different phone sizes in 2015.

Rumors also suggest the iPhone 5c will be dropped from the product line up next year. It’ll be replaced by the iPhone 5s as the free option for contracts. That does raise the question of where a 4-inch iPhone Mini would fit into the product line up.

Another hefty rumor now gaining traction is of a larger, more enterprise-focused iPad Pro. The slate will apparently feature a 12.2-inch display, possibly a split-screen mode in iOS, and plenty of additional memory for improved performance. Just before the Christmas break reports began circulating about the iPad Pro having 4GB of RAM.

Couple these with the Apple Watch (as well as another iOS update) and 2015 looks to be shaping up to be another big year for Apple.
