Apple Planning to Launch iPhone 6s

iPhone 6s
If you are having a hard time getting your hand on either iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, don’t freak out. Not yet anyway. Apple is trying to catch up with the crazy demand, as the company is apparently still selling every iPhone 6 unit its partners can assemble.

However, the company is also apparently preparing for a massive iPhone 6s launch next year, Focus Taiwan reveals.

The Taiwanese publication said that Pegatron might receive as much as 50 percent of the next-generation 4.7-inch iPhone 6s orders in 2015, according to a European brokerage firm.

"For the next product cycle, iPhone 6S, likely out in September 2015, we believe for the first time in the iPhone history, Pegatron will become the main source for assembly, with more than 50 percent of the 4.7-inch allocation," the site said.

Pegatron currently assembles some 30 percent of all 4.7-inch iPhone 6 units, with Foxconn responsible for the rest. The Chinese giant is also mass-producing all the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 units for Apple, but next year iPhone maker might also distribute some of the next-gen 5.5-inch iPhone phablet orders to Pegatron.

By increasing its supply partners, Apple is looking to reduce supply risk and gain leverage in pricing negotiations, the same firm said, noting that Apple changed its outsourcing policies after Tim Cook took over the company in 2011.

In addition to the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 in 2014, Pegatron also received orders for the iPhone 4S in 2012 and the iPhone 5c last year.
