Now I've always thought collagens were used in face masks, and beauty products. I did not know you could actually ingest them. A couple of weeks back, I had the opportunity to try out Bone & Pot's famous collagen soup at their new steamboat restaurant branch in Bandar Puteri Puchong. Do check out the very unique and healthy fares we had that night.

Bone & Pot new branch at Bandar Puteri Puchong |
Bone and Pot's signature steamboat is famed for its Hong Kong origins and concept. The restaurant's Chinese name - *有骨气* ( Yau Guat Hei ) resembles bountiful prosperity, as our delicious broth base is made of quality bones for that original taste you crave for. Meatballs are hand-made to perfection plus our key ingredients of seafood and meat are air-flown fresh from Hong Kong.

Collagen is an important constituent material within our body's skin, bone, cartilage, and blood. Collagen plays a key role in maintaining healthy skin, tissue, morphology and structure of an organ and it can even help to repair damaged tissue. In addition, collagen is said to have brightening, firming, moisturizing, nourishing and also anti-aging effects on skin. So, when you consume a bowl Collagen Soup, you not only enjoy its great taste, but also all its beneficial qualities.

Carefully now. |
Bone & Pot is now expanding their menu to include “Collagen Soup”, a tasty choice to health and beauty. The secret ingredient is the collagen jelly, derived from deep sea marine sources, imported fresh from Japan. A cube of milky, white collagen jelly is added into the soup while the soup cooks and the milky collagen jelly melts instantly giving the soup a white, thick, creamy texture and a sweet taste.

All melted down, and ready to be taken with all the steamboat ingredients. |
In addition, with the pork bone soup base boiled to perfection with generous amounts of healthy and nutritious ingredients, you will fall deeper and deeper in love with the Collagen Soup with every satisfying slurp. I must say it doesn't look as appetizing as it tastes, but once it goes into our steamboat, boiled and melted down, I thought of all the goodness contained within.

More meat for the carnivore in us |
Almost akin to the japanese shabu shabu style, we had these thinly sliced different grades of beef, to be added into our steamboat. I myself am a meat lover, hence took lots of these goodies that night. I would have preferred if the beef slices were more thinly cut out, as it would cook way quicker. Nevertheless, I loved these the most.

Golden Bean Curd - RM5.80 |
|
Deep Fried Salt and Pepper Soft Boned Chicken - RM12.80 |
Bone & Pot Steamboat Restaurant do have some rather nice deep fried side dishes on top of their steamboat ingredients. I personally like the two shown above, where the deep fried Golden Bean Curd had this silky smooth taste inside, while being slightly crunchy on the outside. The Deep Fried Salt and Pepper Soft Boned Chicken needed some getting used to though, as I haven't really had delicacies such as these before. The chicken had these 'tendon' like soft bones which give out that certain texture when you munch on them.

Various unique sauces available |

To go with our steamboat, we got to choose from a variety of sauces ranging from the Special fried minced garlic sauce, the Fermented Bean Curd sauce, the Dry Shrimp Chilli Sauce, Siamese Green Chilli Sauce and the Nanyang Belacan Chilli Sauce. Overall it was a good meal out, one which you should try out if you're in the vicinity. I mean, why not have some good affordable Collagen Soup with your steamboat right?
