HP Omen Gaming Notebook PC & HP Stream Launch

So there I was at Pixie Mansion the other day to witness the soft launch of HP's latest Notebook PC namely the HP Omen Gaming Notebook PC and the HP Stream. It's a pretty nice launch complete with some nice outfits following the lines of their tagline "Something Wicked is Coming". Check out some photos I managed to snap that day, along with a first impression look at both these notebooks.

HP announced the HP Omen Notebook PC, a gaming PC that combines performance, portability and style in a package that is designed for gamers.

"Gamers play to win and expect their PCs to do the same," said Serena Yong, General Manager, Printing & Personal Systems, HP Singapore & Malaysia. "The HP Omen delivers the power to dominate with a stunning design to give gamers the ultimate gaming experience"

The afternoon was spent fiddling around with the HP Omen Gaming Notebook as well as the HP Stream. That was not before we were treated to a show of lights and sound, all surrounding the 'wicked' theme. I found the colours a treat, albeit the whole atmosphere was a tad too dark for nice pictures.

In gaming, performance must be balanced across a number of key attributes including the processing power to deliver fast, stutter free frame rates, quick load times and great graphics. Powered by NVDIA GeForce GTX 860M and Intel Core i7 Quad Core processor, it should have enough power to deliver high performance and stunning graphics.

Running in full HD, the HP Omen offers a 15.6" diagonal 1080p touch enabled display, optimized for smooth frame rates and 72% color gamut shows vivid, rich colours. I must say, it does show a rather nice color and display.

Inside the HP Omen, the standard 128GB solid state drive (SSD) enables games to load 2-3 times faster than traditional hard drives. With an option to go bigger at 256GB and 512GB, customers are also able to choose a memory of 8GB or 16GB DDR3.

At only 19.9mm thin, the HP Omen is portable and sleek, with a chassis milled from solid aluminium and anodized with a black finish. It looks as cool as it runs. The custom chrome hinge is designed to elevate the display out of the way of hot exhaust air.

I do like the multi coloured keyboard LED lightings. Customizable backlit keyboard with seven zones of multicolor lighting, now this is the way to go! HP Omen's Beats Audio speakers also have multicolor lighting that can be customized and set to respond to the audio of games, music or movies.
