Norway November 2014 (Updated)

Volkswagen is now the Best Selling brand

Volkswagen Charges Ahead Edition

Another average sales month in Norway, with 1.552 EV's sold, in fact, the growth curve seems to be flattening, with a measly 6% rise regarding the same month last year. With 14% in EV share, it looks that the stratospheric growth from previous years (0,6% EV Share in 2010, 1,6% in 2011, 3,12% in '12, 6,1% in '13 and 14,1% now) doesn't seem to be happening next year.

Volkswagen made a strong attack (The e-Golf was #2 and the e-Up! #3) to Nissan's leadership in the Manufacturers ranking and removed the japanese automaker (With 25% vs 24%) from the throne for the first time since 2012, making Norway the first country to ever crown VW as the Best Selling EV brand.

Looking elsewhere in the monthly ranking, we can see Tesla rising back to form (202 units, best month since June), and with the all-important AWD versions coming soon, it will be interesting to see how they will behave in the near-term.

In the YTD ranking, the podium is very much solid, but the Fourth Place is still open, as the lead of 121 units that the BMW i3 has on the VW e-Golf could very well be undone in the last month of the year.

Below the Top 6, the fight for #7 has a lot of competitors, with only 40 units between the #7 Citröen C-Zero and the #10 Kia Soul EV, if i had to bet my money as who would win the race, the choice would be the Renault Zoe, because it is improving more and more each passing month and i wouldn't be surprised if it reached a new personal best in December.

At the bottom of the ranking, the BMW i8 sold three units and surpassed the Opel Ampera, reaching an unremarkable #20, it seems that Norwegians aren't all that impressed with the german sports car...
