What Everyone Wants From iPhone 6s or 7?

iPhone 6s or 7 Concept
Keeping track of all the rumors surrounding the next Apple flagship iPhone variant is a full-time work. It requires endless weeding out of the irrelevant and whimsical reports to get the reliable sources of information.

One of those noteworthy to mention is a report that designer Martin Hajek has come up with what he believes that Apple’s next mobile will look like. His design is smaller and wider than the iPhone 6, boasts an edge-to-edge screen and has its speaker at the top of the device.

Hajek said: "Based on an idea from tech editor Steven Tweedie from Business insider I visualised what an iPhone 6 would look like with the display pushed to the edges."

But is this really what Apple is likely to release? The honest answer is that nobody really knows, but anybody can make some educated guesses.

That full-sized display is unlikely because Apple Pay needs the TouchID sensor that’s built into the Home button, and any dramatic redesign this year is equally unlikely because Apple doesn’t generally make big design changes annually.

The 2015 iPhone is likely to be an iPhone 6s instead of iPhone 7, visually identical to the iPhone 6 but with various internal improvements.

So what are they likely to be? Based on several sources, it could feature the following:

A Better Camera
Camera technology is coming on in leaps and bounds, and it is expected that the next iPhone will boast a better sensor.

It would be ideal if it got the camera from the iPhone 6 Plus, but the extra thickness required might be a no-no with Apple’s current fascination with thinness.

A Smaller Version
Rumours suggest that Apple hasn’t abandoned smaller phones altogether, and that a new model with a 4-inch screen is in the works. Everyone is hoping that is the case because even the iPhone 6 is too big for comfortable single-handed use.

Wireless Charging
This is more of a wish list item than a prediction, but wireless charging exists, it works really well and it just needs, say, the world’s biggest tech company to embrace it.

Sapphire Displays
Sapphire displays are supposed to be tougher than the Gorilla Glass ones everyone is used to, but manufacturing problems means that Apple hasn’t been able to get the quantities it needs at a price it likes.

Sapphire’s coming in the Apple Watch, and it is known that it is on Apple’s radar for the iPhone. The question is whether the manufacturing can be solved in time.

High Definition Audio
The latest iPhones support headphones with Lightning connectors, which supports ultra-high quality audio.

Nobody will notice any difference on the bus, but if they are the kind of person who really cares about music and has the high-end headphones and hi-fi hardware to prove it, better quality music would be a big selling point.

Apple’s ‘mastered for iTunes’ programme means it does have the necessary files; all it needs to do is start selling them.

The End of the 16GB Version
The 16GB simply version isn’t enough anymore when almost everyone is shooting high quality video of everything and iOS updates take multiple gigabytes. The 32GB is a much better starting point.

A Better Battery
Battery technology is constantly improving, but nobody tend to notice because with each new phone everyone is doing more things now.

With iPhones expected to talk to health sensors and run apps for the Apple Watch, the iPhone 6s or 7 is likely to continue that trend – so a better battery is a must.
