BenQ, the Taiwanese company has always been known to make good displays and projectors have introduced these cool devices to the South East Asian market recently. The BenQ T3 Smartphone is marketed as a budget handset over here in Malaysia, which was perfect for my mum's needs especially when you see all the features it packed into one small package.

It is basically a no frills box, which made unboxing a very straightforward and simple affair. Found inside the box would be the BenQ T3 device itself, it's USB wall plug charger, a pair of earphones and it's warranty and user manual. Nothing much to shout about, but simple is always better especially for smartphones at this price range.

The features and specifications for the BenQ T3 in a nutshell can be summarized as below. The design itself doesn't run from the norm, but that's not a bad thing in my books. The slim profile, with a rounded edge design, coupled with it's light weight the BenQ T3 felt solid yet not bulky at all. If you were to look at the smartphone from the front, the BenQ T3 comes with 3 virtual navigation button at the bottom, with a 0.3MP selfie camera at the top.

The back cover is kept simple with a chrome on the 8MP camera lens that is paired with an LED Flash. Sound and music comes out from the speaker grill located at the bottom of the phone.

Charging is done via the micro USB standard port, and the BenQ T3 has a standard 3.5" jack for your music pleasures. Just plug in any standard earphones, or the one that came with the package and you're good to go. Interestingly, for a budget phone such as the T3, it comes with a micro SD slot, in case you need to save more videos, photos or music on your phone.

User interface on my BenQ T3 is relatively simple to operate due to its Android default home screen page. No visible lag was noticed, and hopefully with more usage of this phone, I do not encounter any. The BenQ T3 has this rather unique app, the New Comer" apps that was pre-installed in the phone. This saves you from searching for the new apps you have just installed in the device with a click on the apps will reveal your recently installed apps. Very useful function if you asked me.

Using the BenQ T3, the battery lasted around 2 days with average usage. Good enough for the average smartphone user, especially so with my mother who doesn't really push the device to the max. I find the BenQ T3 to be a very value for money device, as it retails for only RM599 with discounts to be had depending on the place you buy from. With LTE connectivity, a pretty good camera, large 1,900mAH battery capacity, I don't see why you wouldn't want to get the BenQ T3 if you're in the market for a stable LTE enabled budget smartphone.
