So there I was over at the Ford Showroom (Sime Darby Auto Connexion Sdn Bhd - PJ Branch) the other day to test drive the new Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost. It was an invited thing, where there would be a video shoot as well to record down what are my thoughts of the car. Check out below on my experience, but do excuse my lack of interior shots, as I was too excited test driving the Fiesta to snap.

The New Ford Fiesta 1.0L Test Drive Experience |
Arriving at the Ford Showroom rather early in the morning, 10am to be exact, I sacrificed my early morning weekend sleep to check out what the new Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost had to offer. My initial expectation for this ride wasn't exactly very high, as on paper it was only a 1.0L engine. How wrong was I to assume the lack of power, as I found out from the test drive, it had plenty of 'oomph'!

The new Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost all set to be driven and pushed to its limit |
Before the hands on test drive activity itself, I was briefed by the sales and marketing guy on the features and functions of the Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost. It's really something, the fact that the engine won International Engine of the Year for 3 years in a row from 2012 to 2014. With a 1.0L turbocharged Ecoboost engine with 125 PS and 170Nm of torque the 6 speed automatic transmission Fiesta is no slouch when it comes to POWER.

I find the Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost really cool looking, coming in a compact form factor. The Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost had to be one of the nicest looking B segment hatchback in the market. Coupled with the fact that it looks really awesome in red, the touted fuel savings of 5.3L/100km makes it the perfect city car. Did you know inside the cabin, the car is fitted with 7 airbags! How's that for safety.

Four doors, hatchback, yet with ample space inside |
The new Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost has kept to the Fiesta’s Kinetic Design, it’s got an all-new grille, jewel-like tail-lights and bolder lines. It features a trapezoidal front grille – a signature of Ford’s new global family – bracketed by laser-cut headlamps. The power-dome hood design adds to the changes, giving the car a more assertive and confident appearance. This translates to an aggressive looking front.

Another cool addition, I was told every Ford Fiesta 1.0L sold in Malaysia will be fitted by default the very sporty looking body kit. Daytime running lights (DRL) comes by default, which is a very good move I might add, not only enhancing the safety features of this car but giving it that upmarket look.

I had loads of questions that morning with regards to the car |

These guys really took their job seriously, ensuring every single angle is covered in the video shoot |
Inside, things are just as expressive. With SYNC voice-activation technology, you can never miss another call because its hands-free technology keeps you connected to all your favorite devices, on the go. I didn't manage to snap a picture, so you'll have to make do with the stock photo below.

Lovely smart keyless entry and push start system |
In addition, the New Ford Fiesta comes with an array of convenient features. With Smart Keyless Entry with Push Button Start, drivers no longer need their key to unlock the car or to start the engine. A pocket fob unlocks the doors automatically at your approach; you can open the door with a quick press on the door handle button. Once you’re in, just push the Ford Power Start button and go. With auto headlamp and auto rain sensor built in, the Ford Fiesta is filled with great features.

Final few words, and I'm all set to test drive the new Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost ! |
It did not take long before I finally had the chance to sit in the driver's seat, buckle my seat belt and off I went pressing pedal to metal. I really wanted to test the handling of the car, as I knew the power is definately adequate for a car this size. A few tight corners at speeds in excess of 80km/h, the Ford Fiesta took it effortlessly with minimal body roll.

Posing for a photoshoot, and interview session midway through my test drive session |
Overall, it was indeed an exciting test drive experience for me. Not only did I manage to push the Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost hard, I got to star in my very own video. Check the video out below!
