NVIDIA is proud to announce that free registration for the Hearthstone®: Heroes of Warcraft Pro/Am international tournament, featuring Blizzard Entertainment’s critically acclaimed digital collectible card game, is now open at https://esports.geforce.com. Pro and amateur players will compete online for their share of the $25K prize pool and qualification points for the Hearthstone World Championship. In addition to the cash prize pool, all pro players and the 16 amateurs who make the brackets will receive NVIDIA SHIELD tablets.
Registration is open through March 19 and group stage gameplay will run from March 26 through May 14. The tournament finals will be held on May 16 when the top 16 professional players face off against the top 16 amateur players in a best of 5, single elimination bracket playoff.
Premier matches will be streamed on www.Twitch.tv/NVIDIA and shoutcasted by Dan “Frodan” Chou and Marcin “Gnimsh” Filipowicz. Top players include Cong "Strifecro" Shu, Janne "Savjz" Mikkonen and Jan "Faramir" Engelmann. Watch the premier live streams every week on Thursday night from 8AM to 12PM PST.
“I’m super excited to be working with NVIDIA to cast this tournament for the Hearthstone community,” said Marcin “Gnimsh” Filipowicz. “Hearthstone is one of those games that’s not only fun to play, but equally as fun (if not more) to watch. I can’t wait to see how this tournament plays out.”
