ASUS ROG Hosts Extreme-Overclocking Gathering at Computex


Taipei, Taiwan (26th May, 2015) — ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced that it is a key partner of the biggest extreme-overclocking gathering to coincide with Computex 2015, one of the world’s largest IT trade shows.

Organized by HWBOT in conjunction with ASUS ROG, Hyper®, Seasonic®, Intel®, DimasTech® and OverClocking-TV, the high-profile assembly will run from 6th June to 8th June, 2015 at the MakerBar next to the famous GuangHua Computer Market. It is the third and final stop of HWBOT World Tour 2015 and is the global showcase for HWBOT World Series — a worldwide search for the world’s finest overclocking talent.

Visitors to the ROG OC Showdown area and HWBOT World Series will be able to meet the planet’s best overclockers, and watch them in action as they compete. Those unable to attend Computex will be able to enjoy a live stream of the three-day event at http://twitch.tv/overclockingtv, provided by OverClocking-TV. Viewers tuning in to watch the live stream will have the chance to win great prizes and exclusive ROG apparel, including ROG OC Showdown T-shirts and caps, ROG Enthusiast SLI Bridge, ROG and ASUS Strix gaming headsets and Strix mouse pads.

World-class overclocking action at the ROG OC Showdown area
The ROG OC Showdown Area exists to encourage the world’s most-talented overclockers squeeze the maximum performance from cutting-edge PC hardware from some of the planet’s finest hardware manufacturers. Overclockers will compete to achieve the best scores across 13 benchmarking targets, including four world records, seven global first places and two hardware first places. Overclocking hardware is limited equipment manufactured by event partners ASUS ROG, HyperX, Intel and Seasonic. At the end of the event, the world-record winners will each be awarded a ‘WR’ title and USD$750 each, while each global first place (GFP) and hardware first place (HFP) winner will receive USD$250. The cash pool available to be won totals USD$5,250.


HWBOT World Tour Series 2015
During the World Tour 2015 third stage every overclocker with an allocated bench is eligible to compete in the World Series competition. The hardware is limited to the event partners — ASUS, HyperX, Intel, and Seasonic.
The competition will be divided in three stages: SuperP 1M hardware points, SuperPI 1M target score and Cinebench R15. The winners will be awarded a variety of prizes, including a forthcoming graphics card, ROG’s Rampage V Extreme gaming motherboard, a HyperX DDR4 memory kit, and a HyperX SSD. A cash prize will also be awarded to the top three participants, with a total purse reaching double the revenue from ticket sales.

ASUS ROG will also be running an online contest open to anyone worldwide offering even more great prizes, including the high-performance ASUS Matrix R9 290X graphics card, ROG’s Maximus VII Gene no-compromise microATX gaming motherboard, ultra-fast HyperX DDR4 3333MHz memory kit and a bright-white Seasonic Snow Silent 1050W power-supply unit (PSU).
