DELL InnoLifestyle Bloggers Boot Camp - DELL All-in-One Desktop Series

A blogger event, aptly named the DELL InnoLifestyle Blogger Boot Camp happened a couple of weeks back. I had the privilege to be invited as one of bloggers for a day of fun with an aim to learn up the latest Dell Inspiron 23 7000. The activities were pretty intense, at least for me, as we went on from learning about the All-In-One Desktop to baking and drama sketches.

The day started with me arriving at the venue, all set and pumped up to find out what's in store for us bloggers. Held at the exclusive Cooking House Malaysia in Bangsar, I suspected there was going to be some cooking involved. I guessed right. Throughout the day, we had the chance to play with the Dell Inspiron 20 3000 series, as well as the 23 7000 series, and I must say I am literally hooked to the device.

The event kicked off after a brief gadget familiarisation session, with an introduction to the desktops. It's interesting to see the good folks from Intel in attendance as well. They introduced the latest tech and feature, RealSense Technology which is incorporated into the new Dell Inspiron 23 7000. With just a wave of the hand, or a flick of your arm, you will be able to send input signals to the computer without using touchscreens, touchpads or mouse. Pretty cool new age stuff here.

After the introduction to the Inspirons and Intel’s technology, we were promptly placed into groups to start some of the fun activities. I was grouped with Mike and LiewCF, both really cool active male bloggers, tech guys at heart. Dell presented on screen a series of webisodes produced by them, which had a pretty touching storyline. Check out one of the episode I managed to grab off the net.

It didn't take long to get us into the 2nd floor of the Cooking House, to start baking some good stuff! Each group of bloggers had to prepare desserts using the recipe already pre-loaded in the 3000 series All-in-One Desktop. During our cooking session, each group was given a 3000 series to work with, connected to Skype for a chance to contact the Chef whenever we are stuck.

I like the fact that the screen is big enough that we can run multiple apps on the screen and still be able to read the recipes for cooking. Even though it’s running Windows, I must say that the interface is pretty smooth even when we are using the hand gestures to operate it instead of using the touch screen. And we were on our way to being chefs in our own rights. Three guys, 2 desserts, no problem!

Baking cookies, or anything for that matter wasn't my forte at all. It turned out pretty well in the end though, as we followed the recipe to a tee, ensuring each ingredients were measured accurately before  being prepared and thrown into the ovens. It was rather unfortunate we did not win though, as I knew each of us put in a lot of effort, our very best.

Round 2 involved us physically going to the front to make the perfect skit, a presentation among us three on what can be done with the 3000 Series. The winning group gets to walk home with the  Inspiron 3034 All-In-One Desktop each, which unfortunately wasn't us, again.

The #DellAIOCampaign Instagram contest, DELL's Masterchef challenge, DELL's All-in-One Desktop Presentation challenge and of course the winning team for the overall challenge were announced. None of it had my name in it. What a sad day it was. Nevertheless I have to thank DELL for coming up with such a fun bloggers boot camp event, a great day out with like minded folks and friends!
