YouTube is testing out a new redesigned video player for desktop computers. The new redesign is a bit sleeker with a more simplified look. Its video control panel overlays videos with a tinted transparent background, which disappears when you don't need it, leaving the video to play with a frameless and buttonless look.
Want to take the new redesigned YouTube player for a test ride? All you need to do is - go to:
YouTube.com/TestTube - which is YouTube's place to try out the latest experimental features before they become default for the public.
Then scroll to the bottom of the page and find the heading, "Try out the redesigned YouTube player". Then click, "Get the player".
If you don't like the new player, you can always revert back to the old by clicking, "Restore original player", on the same Test Tube page.
