Installing recovery is an easy task specially for redmi 1s where you don't need PC and best of all there are Less chances of your device being bricked...

1. Stock Recovery To Twrp.(Recommended)
Better than CWM for Redmi 1s according to me. Because After Flashing Rom By CWM I was facing bootloops and my device was getting stucking on boot logo. But this Problem was resolved when I switched to TWRP. So I advise users to flash TWRP. But last choice is yours whether u want CWM or TWRP.
So here's the guide
Dont unzip the file.
1.Now go to updater.
2.Click on menu button.
3.Choose select update package.
4.Navigate to the the above downloaded twrp recovery.
Your phone will boot and Recovery will be installed.
