iPhone 7 Could Copy Apple Watch Design

iPhone 7
Rumors and speculation are constantly evolving when one talks about technological gadgets. More so if the item concerned is Apple flagship smartphone, iPhone.

Speculation is building up recently over the unveiling of the next iPhone, and one analyst with a good track record when it comes to making Apple predictions claims the new handset will borrow design cues from the Apple Watch.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared his forecasts with the firm's clients in a recent note, which was picked up by Japanese Apple blog Macotakara.

Here's what Kuo thinks the next iPhone - popularly being referred to as the iPhone 7 or iPhone 6s - will bring to the table:
  • The new handset will feature the Force Touch pressure-sensitive display similar to that found on the Apple Watch and the new Macs.
  • The case will be manufactured from Series 7000 aluminum, the same material that Apple currently uses for the Watch Sport.
  • Apple's going to tweak the colors, with a new rose gold option being added to the line-up, and the Space Grey being switched up to black.
  • Apple will add 0.15mm to the width and height of the new iPhone, with Kuo also predicting that it will be 0.2mm thicker. This could be to accommodate the Force Touch mechanism.
Officially we know nothing about the new iPhone, and probably won't get an unveiling until this fall, perhaps September. It will likely ship with iOS 9.
