JOI KinderTab delivers pre-school edutainment in a rugged package

KUALA LUMPUR, June 17, 2015 – Digital natives are getting younger; an increasing number of children – many as young as 2 years old – make sense of their world through the screen of a tablet or a smartphone. Thanks to how adept children are at figuring technology out, parents and teachers today are but a tap and a swipe away from accessing the many benefits technology holds for teaching and learning – particularly for pre-school kids.

Enter the JOI KinderTab – an Intel® Atom™ powered Android tablet; purpose built for pre-school learning and brought to you by Intel Malaysia, SNS Network and Myteach. Loaded with beautifully designed educational apps including contents based on the National Preschool Curriculum (Kurikulum Standard Prasekolah Kebangsaan), the child-friendly tablet is bound to keep your young one occupied – learning while being entertained at the same time.

“Intel has spent the last decade leading education transformation around the world and we believe that young people are the key to future innovation. Devices like the JOI KinderTab offer the younger set of students limitless opportunities to enhance their learning experience. The availability of this affordable, purpose-built educational device brings us closer to our vision of enabling more students and teachers to participate in high quality education,” said Sam Al-Schamma, Director of Education Sales, Asia Pacific, Intel Corporation.

“Working together with Intel and Myteach, we set out to create a device which can be used by parents and teachers to engage pre-school children in and out of the classroom. The JOI KinderTab has everything you need in an educational tablet – it is affordable, easy to use, rugged and child-proof,” said Mr. Ko Yun Hung, Managing Director of SNS Network (M) Sdn Bhd.
“Collaborating with SNS Network has been an amazing experience. Our in-house developed software which was specially designed for the tablet enables the best user experience and functionality for all its users – parent, teacher or child,” said Nick Lee, Managing Director, Myteach Sdn. Bhd. “We will continue working with schools and educationists to further customize the content preloaded on the JOI KinderTab. This ensures that the tablet will be relevant to all schools and students, regardless of which one they attend.”

In conjunction with the launch the JOI KinderTab, Myteach also announced a pilot study to be conducted in collaboration with Krista Education. Krista Education will be the first education group in Malaysia to utilize the JOI KinderTab devices in the curriculum of its schools nationwide. The pilot study kicks off later this month and will provide Myteach with invaluable feedback from parents, teachers and students on developing new features that can be seamlessly integrated into the teaching and learning process.

“We are excited to work together with Myteach and see this pilot as a great opportunity to better integrate the use of technology into our existing syllabus at Krista Kindergartens,” said Wong Wai Kuen, Programme Director, Krista Education Sdn Bhd.

The SNS JOI KinderTab is available now for RM499 at Krista Kindergartens (RM529 inclusive of GST) at AEON departmental stores, a reseller network spanning more than 50 stores nationwide, as well as online channels including Gloo.com.my, Lazada.com.my, Lelong.com.my, and Myteach360.com
