Apple’s Campus 2 visitor center will feature a cafe, store and observation deck

Apple’s new headquarters is going to be quite the tourist attraction, reports Silicon Valley Business Journal. The site has uncovered documents, first filed with the city of Cupertino back in April, which layout the company’s plans for a massive visitor’s center located on the “spaceship” campus.

From the report:
“The plans show a super-modern glass-walled structure topped by a carbon-fiber roof with extended eaves, punctuated by large skylights. On the ground floor: A 2,386-square-foot cafe and 10,114-square-foot store “which allows visitors to view and purchase the newest Apple products.” Stairs and elevators take visitors to the roof level, about 23 feet up. There, they’ll be able to behold the multi-billion-dollar campus, a kind of monument to the late co-founder Steve Jobs and Apple’s tremendous money machine.“
While it’s been known for quite some time that the Campus 2 would feature a visitor center, these specific details weren’t known until these documents were read through. It will be interesting to see how many visitors actually make their way to Campus 2, but considering the attention that Apple seems to be giving towards making their visits worthwhile, it seems that the Cupertino-based company is at least looking forward to people making the trek.

The documentation also revealed that the visitor center will be located at 10700 N. Tantau, and will be open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM local time Monday through Friday, and be open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on the weekends.
