Outside of the Apple hierarchy, nobody exactly knows when and where the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be release. The two iPhone variants may have undergone massive production in time for the last quarter of the year launch, but the details are still blurry at this time.
A few days ago, a Chinese website claims to have learned from "Foxconn Technology Co., Ltd. insiders" that Apple has finalized the date of the iPhone 6S Keynote address and subsequent launch.
Foxconn insiders told MicGadget.com that Apple will hold the Keynote conference on 11 September, and launch the iPhone 6S and its bigger sibling on 18 September. The publication added that Foxconn has begun mass production of the next-gen iPhones. MicGadget confirmed the previous reports that the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will have a similar design structure to the current flagships.
However, some industry experts have expressed apprehensions over the 11 September Keynote. GSM Arena says September 11 (9/11) is connected to a sad incident in the United States. So, GSM Arena expects Apple to unveil its new phones on 8 September and launch it on September 18.
Nevertheless, Foxconn employees have a very good track record of revealing details of the upcoming Apple products.
Couple of weeks back, an iPhone 6S schematic leaked by a Foxconn employee revealed that the new iPhone will have a 12-megapixel main camera, 2GB RAM, 4K video shooting capabilities, and 240fps slow motion. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted months ago that Apple would upgrade the iPhone 6S camera to 12MP.
The leak also pointed to an improved 5-megapixel front camera and a Qualcomm, Inc. '9X35' Gobi Category 6 4G LTE modem that offers a theoretical download speed of up to 300 Mbps, twice that of the iPhone 6. MicGadget reports that the iPhone 6S will get the Force Touch technology that debuted with Apple Watch and later appeared in the 12-inch MacBook.
MicGadget further claimed that the iPhone 6S would be 7mm thick as opposed to 6.9mm of the iPhone 6. The 5.5-inch iPhone 6S Plus will have a thickness of 7.13mm compared to 7.1mm of the iPhone 6 Plus. A slight increase in thickness was necessary to accommodate the Force Touch sensors.
