Apple has filed a patent that could make the next-generation Apple TV a lot cooler. It would combine Touch ID into the included remote. This could allow some Apple TV content to be restricted, perhaps by age rating, and could be used to control home automation devices. This could be a big selling point of the new Apple TV, other than a predicted, dedicated Apple TV App Store.
