Timelines are a great way to teach students about relevant topics in discrete bits. While they are mainly used in History and Social Studies classes, anyone can easily create a content timeline and share it with students. Here is a set of some practical iPad apps to help you do so. For Android users, check out the collection below. If you know about other timeline creation apps to add to the list, share with us.
1-Timeline
Timeline is a great reference tool for remembering dates big and small. It allows you to create timelines and associate them with custom colors, view multiple timelines together, make some timelines links permanent, search timelines and many more
2- RWT Timelines
'Timeline allows students to create a graphical representation of an event or process by displaying items sequentially along a line. Timelines can be organized by time of day, date, or event, and the tool allows users to create a label with short or long descriptive text. Adding an image for each label makes a timeline more visually appealing. Add, drag, and rearrange items as needed. Saving capability allows students to return to their work and make revisions, and they can share their final work via e-mail. Users can send their finished timeline to their device’s camera roll or email it as a .pdf file to friends and family.'
