Another year has passed, and the mooncake feasting has begun. This time around, I was at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort to taste Mooncake Specialist Tai Thong's delectable new range of mooncakes as well as their Mid-Autumn ala-carte menu offerings. From the ever-popular classic Mooncakes to their refreshing new treats, Tai Thong promises a scrumptious experience that preserves the heritage of this age-old tradition.

Every year Tai Thong takes great effort to come out with new flavours, thanks to the innovative chefs. The Blueberry Lotus with Dried Fruits and Assorted Seeds is one of these new creations, a refreshing change from your usual lotus paste mooncake. The refreshing blueberry is paired with fried fruits and crunchy assorted seeds to give you a sweet fruity mooncake taste.

Orange Lotus with Palm Sugar and Assorted Seeds - RM18.80 per piece

My favourite out of the four new flavours launched would be the Orange Lotus with Palm Sugar and Assorted Seeds. I find the mild orange flavour really gives this mooncake that sweet 'kick' needed. Coupled with palm sugar and crunchy assorted seeds, I do recommend you to try this flavour out.

Snow Skin Pineapple Lotus with Jackfruit Mochi - RM18.80 per piece |
The subsequent two new flavours introduced by Tai Thong this 2015 mid-autumn festival would be from the snow skin series. This year, they managed to fuse together a couple of interesting fruits, from pineapples to Mango Kiwi and Jackfruit. I found the Snow Skin Mango Kiwi with Assorted Dried Fruits to be quite fun to savour especially when the kiwi taste kicks in. The Snow Skin Pineapple Lotus with Jackfruit Mochi had a strong hint of jackfruit flavour inside.
