Analytics show iPad Pro model identifier ‘iPad6,8’ with 2732×2048 resolution

The so-called iPad Pro is indeed real and rocks a 2,732-by-2,048 pixel resolution screen as previously indicated, analytics firm AppSee said Wednesday. The firm captured the device’s identifier in user logs: the iPad Pro identified itself as “iPad6,8.”

The analytics firm is already seeing “iPhone8,1” and “iPhone8,2,” what’s believed to be the identifiers for the upcoming iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

As mentioned above, this isn’t the first time that the screen resolution of 2732×2048 has been suggested for the newest, unannounced iPad. A report surfaced in June after code within iOS 9 was found to suggest the larger iPad could boast the screen resolution. Moreover, that matched a report from DisplaySearch back in January of this year that suggested the same resolution for the larger tablet.

As it stands right now, it would seem likely that Apple is at least entering the final stages of development for the iPad Pro and beginning to test it more broadly — albeit within its own walls still. That might line up with the report from earlier on August 19 that suggests the iPad Pro could seem ass production in October, but it still seems unlikely that Apple will unveil the larger tablet at the September media event, which is rumored for September 9.
