Free Teacher-tested Tools to Try in Your Class

August 12, 2015
What do you do when your classroom has a small budget or no budget at all? Look for alternate resources, like ways to raise funding or free tools! Here are a set of teacher-tested tools at your favorite price: Free.

Free Music Archive

'The Free Music Archive is a non-profit digital library offering free and legal MP3 downloads. It's directed by WFMU, the most renowned freeform radio station in America.'

' Finding free images of high quality is a tedious task - due to copyright issues, attribution requirements, or simply the lack of quality. This inspired us to create Pixabay - a repository for stunning public domain pictures. Your source for royalty free stock photos and copyright free vector graphics. You can use any Pixabay image without attribution in digital and printed form, even for commercial applications.'

Open Library is an open, editable library catalog, building towards a web page for every book ever published. Just like Wikipedia, you can contribute new information or corrections to the catalog. You can browse by subject, author or lists members have created. If you love books, why not help build a library?

'The official YouTube Kids app is designed for curious little minds. This free app is delightfully simple and packed full of videos, channels and playlists that kids love.
We work hard to make the videos available in the app family friendly, but no algorithm is perfect. If you ever find a video you’re concerned about, please flag it. This helps make YouTube Kids better for everyone.'
