A new coffee spot in Publika Shopping Gallery just opened recently, with plush purple themed interior and really comfy sofas and cushion. Koosh Koffeez, strategically located along the row of the Thai boat noodles in Publika serve some really nice dishes, on top of very unique coffee creations. I had the chance to drop by early last week, so do check out below on what we had that afternoon.

The signature plush purple chair at the front #KooshKoffeez |
Arriving at Koosh Koffeez, I was immediately taken in by the warm purple hue of the interior. The chairs were all really comfy, padded with soft cushion, perfect to sit back and relax while sipping on their signature coffee and delicious noms. They had this huge bright purple chair at the front, perfect for those who love to take some selfies or a snapshot to be uploaded unto social media.
Cushion and pillow everywhere, even the walls |
Love the chandeliers inside |
So why the name Koosh Koffeez? A quick chat with the owners of the cafe, and I was brought up to speed, that the term Koosh here signifies happiness, with the hopes of the cafe bringing happiness to those who dine in, with future plans of turning it into a spot to enjoy sweet soul music. Renew your soul, drink coffee, sit back and enjoy.
They are in the business of selling coffee machines too, so do check out their display |
Need one to make your own coffee? Get it at Koosh Koffeez |
Koosh Koffeez is really new on the block, being opened for less than a month, yet it's nice to see walk-in customers already enjoying their drinks and having their meal there. I glanced through the menu, and realise there's really quite a variety of western cuisine on it, from all-day breakfast sets, to pastas, meat dishes, to hand crafted gourmet waffles. I told myself that I got to try as many as I could that day.
Romeo - RM12 |
Koosh Koffeez pride themselves in serving some really good coffee, using Arabica beans from their main business, Arabica Estate. I had two of their signature drinks that afternoon, starting with Romeo, a blend of roses and mocha which really went well together. Served hot, the coffee art with rose petals on top really set the mood for a sweet moment. You must try their other signature drink, the Baller Koffee as shown below!
Baller Koffee - RM16 |
The Baller Koffee with one shot of espresso and lots of creamer and syrup mixed in |
We literally were served with a ball of ice, a whiskeyball to be exact, on a platter complete with creamer chilled by ice in a unique holder, and two shots of espresso. The Baller Koffee came highly recommended, which after I drank a sip, couldn't stop drinking it until the end. The espresso, creamer and premium syrup blended in really well to give that luxurious sweet aromatic drink, not too thick, yet thick enough for a really nice flavour. Love it, and would highly recommend to give it a shot!
Breakfast of Champions - RM25 |
Under Koosh Koffeez all-day breakfast menu, we tried the Breakfast of Champions, which came in a rally large platter filled with wonderful noms. The pricing is pretty competitive, compared to other cafes serving these huge big breakfast sets. The set had the usual suspects, beef bacon, chicken bratwurst, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, roasted tomatoes, baked beans, hash browns and toast. What took me by surprise is the addition of duck bacon which taste awesome, and sauteed shimeiji with white button mushrooms. You do get a lot for its worth, large and satisfying enough to fill two stomach.
James' Brownie - RM18 |
Inside the waffle we had these brownie pieces |
In between dishes, we just had to try Koosh Koffeez's handcrafted gourmet waffles. Handcrafted to perfection, we tried the James' Brownie, a chocolate waffle riddled with brownie pieces, topped with toasted marshmallows and almonds, added with chocolate covered strawberries, and drizzled with chocolate syrup, whipped cream with a huge dallop of vanilla ice cream. The ice cream and marshmallows made all the difference, together with the 'melt in your mouth' chocolate waffle, it was a wonderful treat to the tastebuds.
King Krab - RM33 |
A whole piece of soft shell crab atop some wonderful tasting roasted sesame spaghetti? Are you kidding me? The King Krab dish is out of this world, one of my favourite dishes from Koosh Koffeez. Aptly named King Krab, they do not actually use king crabs, but still the crispy soft shell crab is to die for. Love how the sesame sauce gives flavour and texture to the spaghetti, without being too diluted, it paired really well with the soft shell crab.
Cinnamon Bolognese - RM23 |
The Cinnamon Bolognese was different from other bolognese dishes which I've tasted elsewhere. This is due to the bolognese here is made with a mix of lamb, sun-dried tomatoes, with a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg. They have a choice of either chicken or lamb to be used. Not bad at all.
Grilled Chicken & Mushrooms - RM19 |
Credit has to be given to Koosh Koffeez for the variety in their menu. From their menu's Mediterranean Meals section came these good tasting Grilled Chicken & Mushrooms dish. Authentic Turkish pide bread is served with grilled chicken, sauteed shimejii, white button mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, hummus, garlic aioli, sour cream and salsa. Lots of things going on in the dish, but if you like mediterranean dishes, then you'll love this. I like the grilled chicken.
Grilled Chicken & Capers - RM28 |
The Grilled Chicken & Capers which came next looked real simple, yet tasted exotically different. The tender and juicy grilled chicken fillet is lavished with a thyme and caper sauce, which gave that salty kick to the whole dish. Served on a bed of fries and buttered vegetables, you cannot go wrong with this chicken dish.
Lamb Shank in Coffee Stew - RM45 |
Another giant of a dish, we ended our meal at Koosh Koffeez with the very filling Lamb Shank in Coffee Stew. The very very tender lamb shank which breaks apart with a touch of our fork is basted in a stew of coffee, carrots and onions, then drizzled with a special espresso glaze on chunky mashed potatoes. It looked almost messy, yet tasted heavenly. Strictly for sharing though, as one cannot be expected to finish the whole lamb shank.
