It’s an easy step to root and install CWM or TWRP recovery on Huawei Mate S. However, Huawei Mate S, as a high end smartphone is still required to be rooted for RAM management, as the device is powered with a 3GB RAM. Installation of custom roms would be made possible and easy once TWRP recovery is already installed on the device, and some other easy task and high customization is being made on the device once you’ve passed the process.
2. After that, extract the files from the zipped folder and try to rename recovery.img to Huawei-mate-S.img and move to the ADB folder.

That’s it. The TWRP recovery image would be installed on your Huawei Mate S smartphone, and you would see the TWRP recovery touch menu, simply select reboot to reboot your device.
Now that you’ve successfully installed TWRP Recovery option on your Huawei Mate S smartphone, then you can easily root the smartphone, following the procedures below;
