Apple reportedly launching 21.5-inch iMac with 4K display in October

Dating back to the launch of the second developer beta for OS X El Capitan, hints that Apple has plans to launch a 21.5-inch iMac with a 4K display have been accumulating.

Now according to a new report from the guys at 9to5mac, it looks like that Apple does indeed have plans to unveil a brand new 21.5-inch iMac with a 4K screen. The report states that Apple will unveil the desktop alongside the public launch of OS X El Capitan in late October, and that the machines will begin shipping sometime in November.

It’s likely that the price of the 21.5-inch iMac with 4K display will be higher than the standard 21.5-inch iMac, but that shouldn’t be too surprising or unexpected. To add fuel to the fire, a report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo earlier on September 3 confirmed that Apple is planning on bringing iMacs with “much better displays” to market in the near future. This would fit the bill.

Depending on price, would you pick up a 21.5-inch 4K iMac?
