BMW i3 Goes Interstellar

Just when you thought Tesla had the Denmark EV Market covered, that's when BMW goes ballistic and registers 407 i3's!

Putting those numbers in context, that's 74% of all EV's registered last month, obliterating the previous monthly record for a single model (180 units, made by the Tesla Model S last March), with the Bavarian angry puppy car shooting for Eighth Place in the general Danish auto ranking (The first time a plug-in reaches a Top 20 position) and #4 in the B-Segment/subcompact market, propelling the EV Market as whole to a new record (549 units, beating the 483 sold last March) and a record 3.3% Share in August. What happened here? A certain carsharing fleet deal in Copenhagen must have much to do with this...

In other news...There's only the fact that the Model S surpassed the Audi A6 in YTD sales and became the best selling car in its segment, ahead of the BMW 5-Series, Merc E-Class and the aforementioned A6.

The rest of the competition continued in holidays, selling in small numbers, with no significant performances or position changes.

Oh, and by the way, BMW i3 jumped to Second Place and is the only model close to give Tesla a fight for the leadership.
