The Synology 2016 is Synology's annual conference for this year in which the NAS leading vendor exhibits its latest upcoming products and updates, taking place at Marriot Hotel Singapore on September 16, 2015. This year, we manage to secure a seat for this grandish conference to experience what lies ahead next year, from Synology.
Many representative of renown media groups around the region were seen at the conference, who would want to miss their chance to see what's coming?
Mike Chen, Sales Director at Synology giving his opening speech.
Willie He, Sales Manager at Synology giving us the highlights on the future plans and a wide range of new technologies and product updates, such as the DiskStation Manager DSM 6.0 operating system, Synology Router RT1900ac, DS716+ NAS server.
Remember the Synology Router RT1900ac from Computex 2015? Here's what has been highlighted:
- Revolutionary user interface: the beautifully designed Synology Router Manager (SRM) operating system, combined with the DS router mobile app, brings users an unparalleled interface and navigating experience.
- Robust performance: provides up to 1900 Mbps combined transfer speeds and supports beamforming which can maximize Wi-Fi signal for specific devices.
- Advanced network management: includes application-based traffic control and DNS-based, customizable web filters.
- Exclusive Synology add-ons: supports several popular Synology packages such as VPN Server, Radius Server, and Download Station. Connect the router with an external storage device and it immediately turns into a personal cloud.
The expected retail price of the RT1900ac is around $150 to $180. Although no specific date of availability is mentioned yet, but we're extremely eager to try it out when it's available in the near future.
Here's one of the new affordable NAS from Synology, the DS216play. Powered with Dual-core 1.5GHz CPU and 1GB of RAM, the DS216play supports 4K (3840 x 2160) video transcoding AND H.265 (HEVC) codec support. According to Synology, we can expect the DS216play to be much more budget friendly than DS214play which we can expect for its availability sometime in this coming October.
Here's another member of Synology's new NAS, the businesses and power user oriented NAS server, the Intel Braswell Celeron N3150 1.6GHz CPU, AES-NI Hardware Encryption Engine, 2GB DDR3L-1600 RAM powered DS716+. Capable of 4K video transcoding, you'll be able play 4K videos basically on any devices even though the device isn't capable of carry out the transcoding on its own. Another sweet feature of the DS716+ is that you can further expand it with Synology's very own DX513 expansion unit to meet your personal or business needs.
