First #1 for Kia

1.437 EV's were sold last registered in Germany, with sales up a moderate 19% YoY less than in previous months, with the EV Share stable at 0,60%.

As is tradition in the german EV market, there was another surprise #1 (The seventh in eight months), with the Kia Soul EV selling a record 360 units and securing its first monthly Best Seller trophy in Germany. Sources say that many (most?) of these units are then imported to EV-hungry Norway...

Looking elsewhere, the rest of the competition had below par performances, with the Golf GTE sinking the most, with only 59 units, its worst result in 10 months, with the Model S from Tesla being the exception, by selling 130 units, only four less than in the previous month.

The Mitsu Outlander PHEV once again returned to the YTD leadership, but with a difference of only 38 units from the previous leader i wouldn't be surprised in the Golf GTE returned to #1 next month. There was also a change in Third place, with the Audi A3 e-Tron displacing the BMW i3 (75 units, the first time since 2013 that the german hatch sold less than 100 units, no wonder, the Danes engrossed i3's...) from the last place on the podium.

Signs of a extremely balanced market, the leader has only 11% share (Lowest in the world) and is only 1% above the #4 (Also lowest difference in the world), making this the only market where four different models are openly fighting for the Top Spot with only four months to go.

Oh, and don't forget that Kia and Tesla are not that far off, so a lot can happen here.

Below the top spots, two heavy weights are starting to increase the pace, with the Mercedes C350e up two positions to #18 and the Passat GTE also climbing two positions to #19, considering they are still landing on the market, expect both of them to be best sellers next year.

Looking into the manufacturers ranking, the EV ranking it is starting to look like the general auto ranking in Germany, with Volkswagen in the lead (21% share), followed by BMW and Mitsubishi, both with 12%(The german is ahead by 87 units) and Audi, with 11%.
