Tecno Phantom 5 is a newly launched flagship by Tecno, and the phablet runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop from the box and powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core CPU, Mali-T720 GPU, MediaTek 6753 (64-bit) chipset and coupled with a 3GB RAM component alongside with 32GB internal storage memory.
In this guide, I would walk you through the process on how to install cwm recovery image on Tecno Phantom 5.
Requirements:
Step 3: Now, power off your device, and remove the battery.
Step 4: Next, download the SP Flash tool, and extract the files to your computer. You should get the following files as seen below, after extraction.
Step 6: Once the flash tool is launched, then click on the download/upgrade tab and click on scatter loading button
Step 7: Now, locate the “MT6753_Android_Scatter.txt” file, which is on your desktop.
Step 8: After that, click download to begin flashing process.
Step 9: Immediately, connect your device (without battery) to your computer via USB cable, and press Volume Down or up key, so it would be detected easily by your computer.
That’s it. CWM recovery is now installed on your Tecno Phantom 5, to boot to recovery mode, simply press and hold Volume Down button + press Power button.

How to Install CWM Recovery on Tecno Phantom 5
Step 1: First download the recovery zip file from here, and then extract the “Recovery.img” and “MT6753_Android_Scatter.txt” file to the desktop screen of your computer, as seen in the image below.
Step 2: After that, download Tecno USB drivers, and install on your PC.
Step 3: Now, power off your device, and remove the battery.
Step 4: Next, download the SP Flash tool, and extract the files to your computer. You should get the following files as seen below, after extraction.
Step 5: From the extracted files, open Flash_tool.exe
Step 6: Once the flash tool is launched, then click on the download/upgrade tab and click on scatter loading button
Step 7: Now, locate the “MT6753_Android_Scatter.txt” file, which is on your desktop.
Step 8: After that, click download to begin flashing process.
Step 9: Immediately, connect your device (without battery) to your computer via USB cable, and press Volume Down or up key, so it would be detected easily by your computer.
Step 10: The Flashing process would be in progress, and a Green button would appear once the process is completed.
That’s it. CWM recovery is now installed on your Tecno Phantom 5, to boot to recovery mode, simply press and hold Volume Down button + press Power button.
