As iOS 9.1: Android will soon get more Emojis

After the iPhone update to iOS 9.1 will soon also Android smartphones get more Emojis - at least if it goes to Android chief Hiroshi Lockheimer. The announced at Twitter have time to work on new emoticons.

iPhones have Android smartphones currently slightly ahead: No, there is no longer apps, more features or a longer battery life. A big lead the Apple devices do not currently rather in the number of available Emojis. Only this week, numerous iPhone users were thanks to the update to iOS 9.1 on a whopping 150 happy new smileys and icons that the Android users remain far denied. But that should not remain as Hiroshi Lockheimer, head of Android development at Google, announced on Twitter on Friday.

Emojis start using a new Android update?
"I have a feeling that you all wanted more Emojis? A) Thanks for the feedback, b) we are working and c) Sorry!" Was the Tweet Android bosses. Roughly translated, this probably means that you are already doing with Google to provide more Emojis Android. When exactly should be done and how Google intends to provide these Emojis, however, is not known. In worst case you Android users have up to a further update of the operating system, so until Android 6.1, wait.

Most Emojis on smartphones and computers are generated from the Unicode, a digital code for digital standardization of character, which is embedded in the operating system itself. However, individual programs or apps can also bring their own emoji. This applies to WhatsApp for example. This program-specific Emojis however can then be used within the app and do not work throughout the system.
