OnePlus X: the cheap smartphone that looks like a high-end

After starting the OnePlus 2, the Chinese manufacturer has another smartphone, smaller, cheaper and less advanced but more beautiful.

Founded in 2013, the manufacturer OnePlus was first made known through his smartphone OnePlus. Its peculiarity was that it has characteristics and quality close to those of high-end Android when it is sold at a relatively lower price.

Furthermore, OnePlus recently formalized another smartphone: the OnePlus X. And unlike the two other brand phones, it does not really positioned as a high-end killer.

Quoted by the website The Verge, the co-founder of OnePlus Carl Pei says that the range "X" is some sort a range on which the brand can test new formats.

With a 5-inch AMOLED display (a resolution of 1080 × 1920, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass glass 3), the OnePlus X is smaller than the previous smartphones from the manufacturer.

It has no fingerprint scanner and above all, the processor is a Snapdragon 801, the same as the Galaxy S5 Samsung released early 2014. The RAM is 3GB and it will exist a Version 16 GB, but with expandable memory.

Otherwise, the rear camera is 13 MP while the front camera is 8 MP. The phone can be used with two chips, but provided you do not use memory card to expand the 16 GB of internal storage.

In contrast, the OnePlus X has a USB Type-C connector.

It's all in the design

If you are a true fan of Android, these characteristics have certainly not impressed, and this is normal. It seems that it is primarily the design and materials that will distinguish this smartphone with a metal frame and a back glass which may recall the Samsung Galaxy S6 in some (and some old iPhone because of the form).

Presumably this smartphone, the OnePlus intended for users who do not require a recent processor, or 4 GB of RAM and do not care to have advanced performance on their smartphones but the outward appearance.

And with a 5-inch screen, the X OnePlus might appeal to people who are more comfortable with smaller phones (the same target with the Google Nexus 5X).

The price of OnePlus X is naturally lower: $ 249 for the standard version "Onyx", against 329 dollars for OnePlus 2. Another version "ceramic" will be marketed in Europe as a limited edition (10,000 copies) to 379 euros .

But for those interested, the OnePlus X will be sold using an invitation system (at least initially), like the other mobile manufacturer.
