Android 6.0 Marshmallow update now available for HTC One M8 Google Play Edition. However, you can update your HTC One M8 via OTA. Most HTC One M8 devices already received the update, if you’ve not received yours, simply go to Settings >> About phone >> System updates.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for HTC One M8 features doze mode (Save battery life span), improved Google Now, improved app permission setup, tweaked app drawer interface, improved online shopping security and lots more expected features of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
You can update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow manually on your HTC One M8 Google Play Edition. All you need is to download the OTA file which is about 450 MB and take full backup of your device. Also know that the manual update works for only users under stock recovery, that is, if you’ve rooted the device and installed TWRP Recovery on your device, it won’t work. Simply flash to stock recovery before you update manually.
After that, move the file to your device internal memory; boot your phone to recovery mode (Press and hold volume up + down +power button to boot) and once you get to recovery mode, locate the OTA file and flash.
The flashing process will begin and take some time before it’s completed. Once you’re through, reboot your HTC One M8 device and you will begin to experience android 6.0 Marshmallow on it.
