Android: Google brings security update for Nexus devices

Google provides a new Android update for its Nexus devices since Monday. The patch stuffs especially vulnerabilities and is also available for other manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, Huawei and Co. are available. When users receive the update for your smartphone, however, is up to the manufacturer.

Less than a month after the official release of Android 6.0 marshmallow has rolled out the first major update for its current operating system on Monday Google. Factory Images of the new Android version are now available for Nexus devices like Nexus and Nexus 5X 6P available. Older devices like the Motorola Nexus 6, the LG Nexus 5, HTC Nexus 9, the Nexus 7 (2013) and the Nexus Player Asus obtain the fix.

Update addresses 23 vulnerabilities
With the update include the developer claims to all the 23 security flaws in Android, two of which were considered critical. The vulnerabilities allow attackers to gain access to the smartphone or tablet by locks certain media files via MMS or SMS to the device. These security updates will be made available for Android 5.1.1 Lollipop available, so that older devices can update it.

Google plans to monthly updates for Android
Google itself wants monthly face in the future a new update for Android is available and thus also include all emerging vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
