Samsung makes the Galaxy S6 a clamshell. With the SM-W2016 the manufacturer must affix a device with T9 keyboard and the latest hardware on the market. Visually, the device recalls the current flagship of the South Koreans.
Who misses as mobile phone users, the good old keys smartphones, it has not been easy. Away from modern devices that rely solely on a touch screen, it is hardly reasonable alternatives with classic form factor. That could change, thanks to Samsung now. With the SM-W2016, the South Korean manufacturer develops according SamMobile currently a clamshell reminiscent purely optical to the modern Galaxy S6 or to the Galaxy Note. 5
Clamshell with current hardware
Especially in the closed state, the device looks almost the same as the rear of the music 5. If the smartphone unfolded, the T9 keyboard and 3.9-inch AMOLED display appear. In spite of the clamshell-optics it should be at the SM-W2016 to a real high-end device that in terms of features does not need to hide from current flagships.
Inside an Exynos 7420 processor tinkers, as it comes in the Galaxy S6 used. The chip is supported by 3 GB of RAM, while the internal memory with 64GB neatly fails. The camera should be equal to that in the Galaxy S6 and dissolve with 16 megapixels. The front camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels. The operating system is Android 5.1.1 to use.
Release still unclear in Germany
So far, the rare clamshell Samsung has only been registered in China by the competent regulatory authority TENAA. If and when the smartphone also finds its way to Europe, is still unclear. However, all those who dream finally of a clamshell phone without compromise, a likely release in this country surely yearn.
