A new version of Google Plus has been released today with a redesigned look and a focus on two main features: Collections and Communities. These are functionalities that were already present in the old version of Google Plus but with this new update, Google puts them ‘front and centre’ allowing people to easily discover, follow and share content that matter to them.
Collections is topic-focused hubs where you can discover content related to specific topics. You can easily create collections where you can organize and group posts by topic. ‘Each collection can be shared publicly, privately, or with a custom set of people. Once you create your first collection, your profile will display a new tab where other people can find and follow your collections.’
Communities is another great feature which has been revamped with this new update. Communities is where you get to join people with shared interests and passions and ‘ geek out on anything from Game of Thrones to Painting’. You can either create your own communities and invite others to join or browse through the communities featured there and join the ones you like.
Besides Collections and Communities, Google Plus has also introduced a new redesigned home stream and made it easy for users to ‘post, search, connect, and keep up with great content’. To view the new Google Plus, just sign in and click on ‘Let’s go’ when you see the prompt. Enjoy
