Xbox One users can finally gamble their old Xbox 360 Classics on the new Microsoft console on Thursday. The Group has now released the official list of games that are backwards compatible.
A few days ago an unofficial list of backward compatible games for the Xbox One has already been leaked, Microsoft on Monday also released an official list of 104 games. The Microsoft-formation differs in a few small but important points of the Leak list. Thus titles like "Halo Wars" or "Bioshock Infinite" are not, first, to be supplied in the future according to Microsoft, however. The Xbox One will be backwards compatible with a software update that will be available on November 12 for download.
Sony has no plans for backward-compatible PS4
The backward compatibility of the Xbox One works with games on discs and download titles. With digital Xbox 360 games that have been purchased in the past, the game will simply automatically appear in the Installation menu of the Xbox One. In the old Xbox 360 games to DVD disc in the new console must be inserted. Subsequently, the game is a free download via the Xbox Live Marketplace. After a successful download the DVD must be in the drive, however, continue.
