Some 2.700 EV's were sold last month in Germany, up 130% regarding the same month last year, with the EV Share going further north to 0,71%, up some 0,03% regarding the previous month and a significant departure from 2014, having recorded at the time 0,44% share.
As tradition in the German EV market, there is always something interesting to talk about, this time, after three impressive wins by the Kia Soul EV, there is a new Monthly Best Seller, the Renault Zoe registered 465 units, three more than the Korean, beating its own personal record and returning to #1 for the first time this year.
Below the Top Two, the BMW i3 posted an impressive 314 units, its best result ever, while the VW Passat GTE was Fourth, thanks to 280 sales, a new record, consistently beating its smaller brother Golf GTE, #5 with 168 units, somewhat affected by the arrival of its newer relative.
Pl | Model | Sales |
1 | Renault Zoe | 465 |
2 | Kia Soul EV | 462 |
3 | BMW i3 | 314 |

Looking at the YTD ranking, the BMW i3 returned to #4, exchanging positions with the Audi A3 e-Tron, while the Renault Zoe jumped two positions to #7, a funny fact regarding the french model, is that although it is four positions below the Bronze Medal won last year, its sales are actually up 26% YoY...Which says something about the current pace of the market as a whole.
The Volkswagen Passat GTE jumps another two positions to #10, while the Mercedes C350e also climbed two positions to #15.
The Volkswagen Passat GTE jumps another two positions to #10, while the Mercedes C350e also climbed two positions to #15.
There are two newcomers to the ranking, with the Audi R8 e-Tron registering its first six units and preparing the way to give the BMW i8 some serious competition in 2016, speaking of BMW, a new Bimmer plug-in model (The fifth!) has landed last month, the 330e registered its first 19 units and, as usual in every motorway-bruiser coming from BMW, it has the Premium sales leadership incorporated in its CPU, in this case meaning: "Beat the Mercedes C350e".
Looking into the manufacturers ranking, Volkswagen remains in the lead (20% share, down 1%), followed by the surprise Kia (14%), with BMW in Third with 13%, Mitsubishi #4 (10%, down 1%), and right behind we have Audi and Renault, with 9%.
