Samsung Galaxy S7 with "Dual Pixel" camera?

New year, new flagship, new camera? Samsung could be the Galaxy S7 equip the release with a new camera technology called "pixels Duo". At least the manufacturer from South Korea has now submitted an application for patent.

That Samsung wants to improve the camera of Galaxy S7 compared to the predecessor on, seems clear. However, the question of how the company will do that remains. A new patent application, which the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) published on Wednesday, could at least provide a little hint. Thus, Samsung apparently wants to protect the name "Duo pixels". What is a technology behind this concept, the document but not revealed.

"Duo pixels" & BRITE CELL-Invented for Galaxy S7?
It is conceivable that the patent application describes a camera technology as Canon puts them in some camera models, speculated SamMobile. Canon's Dual-pixel sensor relies on two separate photodiodes for all effective pixels on the sensor surface. While individual pixels are responsible either for autofocus or for image acquisition at ordinary autofocus systems do Canons Dual Pixel both. This ensures a particularly rapid focus and focus tracking with maximum image quality.

Already in November, there was speculation about a possible new camera technology for the Galaxy S7. On the Samsung Electronics in 2015 Investors Forum of the manufacturer presented namely the so-called BRITE CELL technology, which promises a higher photosensitivity in combination with shrinking camera modules. Hence the idea is a potential use in smartphones - such as the expected for the end of February 2016 Galaxy S7 - close.
