There I was a couple of weeks back with a great bunch of fellow foodies and bloggers, some who came all the way from Penang to savour Delicious' new menu in conjunction with their "Inspired by Tapas" Specials. It was a feast of sorts, one which I truly enjoyed, amongst great company. Check out the new dishes below.

The new menu features 16 new and improved dishes that are true to the delicious brand and incorporate their ethics to provide great quality food and drinks with a hint to a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle. "Inspired by Tapas" menu is 10 dishes created by CEO Steve Allen and Executive Chef Sandy Alan Rowe. The menu consists of dishes such as 'Baked Pumpkin with Grilled Prawns" and many more to provide guests with more choice and variety.

From the TAPAS INSPIRED MENU


The 'Inspired by Tapas' menu runs from 4th January until 31st March 2016 with prices for each dish ranging from RM8 to RM18. Steve adds "We are constantly listening to guests feedback and one sentiment that keeps getting mentioned is that our food portion can be too big, and they don't get much variety when dining in. "

Interesting dish, the Baked Chicken Thigh with Romesco Sauce and Toasted Almonds had a savoury and sourish flavour. Love how the toasted almonds added that extra crunch to the lovely baked chicken thigh. When presented with the Creamed Garlic Mushroom with croutons and poached Egg, I was delighted by how the egg and crouton goes so well with the creamy mushrooms. Lots of goodness in each bite.

Two of my favoured dish came next, the Grilled Beef Skewers which came with tomatoes, red onions and peppers, and garlic fried potatoes, and the Black Cod with capsicum sauce. Loved the beef skewers, very tasty and tender. The flavours really hit all my right taste spots, yummy stuff.  The same cannot be said for the Black Cod though, with the meat being a tad too overcooked and tough. 

With this new menu, guests can order up to 5 dishes to share between 2 people without breaking the bank and also have a satisfying meal. Although the menu is based on a Spanish way of eating, they have taken influence from all over the world from the Middle East to Asia.

Two deep fried dishes, the Crunchy Chicken wing came with a rather special crust, made from Sesame and seaweed with accompanied mustard mayonnaise dip. The other dish, Pumpkin Risotto Balls had a mix of mushrooms and rosemary risotto with pesto mayonnaise on the side. Both equally tantalizing and delicious to munch on.

Other aspects of the menu that have changed is the introduction of more local dishes, a more varied appetizer section as well as an amazing light salad of Roasted Pumpkin, Coconut & Beef Serunding Salad. The salad itself had papaya in the mix doused in spicy lemon dressing. Personally I loved the Carbonara with Seaweed Egg in parmesan cream with Mushrooms. You get to choose between a choice of beef bacon or shredded chicken in the carbonara dish.

The Wild Mushroom Wrap comes with cherry tomatoes, parmesan, cucumber and pine nut all wrapped up with sweet mushrooms. On the side you get these potato wedges and some salad. Pretty good, considering the wrap itself came in very generous portions.

We ended our meal with some crazily delicious sweet dessert in the form of the all-new Macadammia & Salted Caramel Cheesecake Sundae and the Chocolate & Raisin Cheesecake. In addition to all the new menu items, the Delicious Group have started to roll out a Monday & Tuesday Specials night of "Buy 1 Free 1" dishes. 

In December, Asian Mains get the spotlight followed in January with sandwiches, burgers and wraps. Available from 3pm every Monday and Tuesday, guests can choose any two of these dishes and they receive the lower priced item absolutely free! Remember to drop by any of the Delicious eateries and try these dishes out yourself.
