Recently, Android 6.0 Marshmallow update was outed for Moto X 2014 smartphones, and most users already updated theirs via OTA. However, we managed to collect the OTA file so that those of you that haven’t received the update notification can do their manually. Alternatively, you can simply go to settings >> about phone >> software information/update to update device to Android 6.0 Marshmallow over-the-air.

OTA Update Version 24.11.18.en.EU for Moto X 2014 2nd Gen. XT1092
1. Firstly, download any of the firmware from the download link provided above.
2. After that, enable USB debugging on your Moto X Play from developers option under settings. Skip this process if your device is a bricked one.
3. Now, download Motorola USB drivers on your computer, for easy communication between your device and computer.
5. After that, extract the files from the Stock lollipop firmware zip files, and move to the ADB and fastboot folder.
6. Next, switch off your device and boot to bootloader mode. To boot, simply press and hold volume down and the power button together for few seconds.
7. After that, connect your device to computer via USB cable.
8. Now, open the ADB and fastboot folder were you’d moved all those files boot, system logos and image files.
9. Once you open the folder, open command prompt windows. Simply hold shift and right click your mouse, then select “open command windows”.
10. Once you get to command windows, then input the below command to verify your device connectivity to PC
adb devices
11. After that, input the below commands, and press enter for each command issued. Remember to rename the downloaded OTA file to ota.zip.
adb sideload ota.zip
12. Once flashing process is completed, use the 2nd command to reboot your device automatically.
