Sometimes a weekend getaway with family may just be the best stress relief, away from the hustle and bustle of work and people. I had an awesome weekend getaway staying over at Dorsett Grand Subang a couple of weeks back, taking advantage of their Kids Stay and Dine for Free promotion package.

Dorsett Grand Subang - Kids Stay and Dine for Free Weekend Getaway |
It was a much needed rest, this post will detail out all the activities and free goodies for the kids (below the age of 12 years old) that the promotion entails. I brought along the two kids, Martin and Karlson by the way, and together with the mrs and the mum, it was a really fun and eventful weekend at the hotel.

There's even a table for me to do rushed blogging assignments if need be. |

An air purifier / ionizer was provided, to provide clean, healthy air for the family and kids |
At RM298.00 nett per room per day, families can enjoy a weekend in a Deluxe room with breakfast and other free goodies for the kids (below the age of 12 years old). We checked into our room in the afternoon, roughly around 2pm and upon entering our deluxe room, I was pleasantly surprised by how much effort has been put to make the room as kid-friendly as possible. Just check out some of the pictures I took below.

You know it's meant for children when there's a children's book on the bed upon arrival |

Quack quack |
One set of Dorsett Kid’s Pack was placed on the bed which consists of a cuddly bean bear, toothbrush and slippers. I did request for another one since there are two of them pesky kids. There were also a box of marshmallows with a welcome note. Colourful toiletries and squeaky ducks were to be found in the bathroom and bathtub, to make sure the children felt right at home.

All sharp edges were fixed with these rubber protection |

Baby Karlson is excited |
When in doubt, wear rubber. I'm very pleased with Dorsett Grand Subang and how they actually took pains in ensuring all the sharp edges from furnitures, tables and chairs in the hotel room is protected by these simple yet very effective rubber fitting. I immediately felt at ease to let Karlson and Martin roam around the room.

Cupcake making competition with Merryn and her family |
Making our stay even more fun, and you could too, if you can round up your family and friends to stay together as well. Merryn's family were taking advantage of the Kids Stay and Dine for Free Weekend Getaway promo that time too. For group booking of 5 families (or friends), Dorsett Grand Subang can arrange for activities such as cupcake decorating competitions and more.

See how well I did, daddy! |
|
With the family, Janice and mum |
That afternoon, after getting comfy in our rooms, we headed down to Cafe Aroma to join in this rather cute cupcake decorating contest. It's more of a fun activity, to encourage bonding between the parents and their children. Great times, Merryn and her family were fun to compete with too!

A quick dip into Dorsett Grand Subang's swimming pool (image credit: submerryn.com) |
What's a hotel stay without enjoying their facilities, especially the swimming pool. We didn't hesitate when given the opportunity to jump into Dorsett Grand Subang's infinity pool. Together with Merryn's family, the boys had a time of their lives, splashing away in the pool. It was Karlson's first time dipping into the waters, and I'm so glad he wasn't afraid of the water at all.

Barbecue Delight Buffet at Terazza Brasserie |
For those with a heartier appetite for dinner, they can choose the Barbeque Delight buffet at Terazza Brasserie. Parents are charged at RM115.00nett per adult while the children eat for free as part of the Kids Stay and Dine for FREE offer. Lots of savings there, especially if you have lots of children below the age of 12.

Delectable freshly grilled prawns |
I do love my meat, and here we have an unlimited spread of barbecued offerings. Indoors, outdoors, they were everywhere! The family and myself ate our fair share, where I personally ate until I'm on the verge of exploding, and yet there were more waiting for me. Oh my..

More meat |
One night of rest later, the following morning, we were up and early, very early, for a good Jazzercise workout. These were one of the activities arranged by Dorsett Grand Subang, which is pretty good, as I really wanted a healthier me.

Let's do this! |

... and stretch! |
Breakfast ensued after that very strenuous (to me) Jazzercise workout. Part of the Kids Stay and Dine for Free promo includes a complimentary buffet breakfast for two persons, which we had after the exercise. It was only 8am that time, but I was already super hungry.

Since it was Sunday, we would get to enjoy the Family Dim Sum Brunch at The Emperor Chinese Restaurant. I've dined there before, and I must say, they are one of the best halal dim-sum spread in a hotel I've tasted in a while. Priced at RM78 nett per person, the dim sum buffet is complimentary for children below 12 years old (maximum 2 children).
We had special dim sums prepared for us too that morning, courtesy of Merryn who put out an advance order for it. Check out these special dishes below.

Prawns |
|
Emperor Special Crispy Yam |
|
Bear chocolate custard steamed bun |
|
Golden Money Pouch |
|
Mushroom buns, with mushroom soup inside |
A short mention on the Kid's Corner is in order. While waiting for the dishes to arrive, or before dining, or even after dining, the kids get to enjoy playing and doing sand art there. Located just outside The Emperor restaurant,

When you take up the
Kids Stay and Dine for Free Weekend Getaway, there's a late check-out clause to it too, which we took to our advantage. Lingering and resting at the hotel after our heavy yummy lunch, we only checked out at 4pm. If you're looking for the best rates for hotels available, one tip for you, do use
HotelsCombined to compare and get the best available rate on your stay.
