'Ye releases 'Real Friends' featuring Ty Dolla $ign and previews the Lamar-assisted 'No More Parties in L.A' as part of the new edition of his G.O.O.D. Fridays series.
You will have more than enough music from Kanye West before his "Swish" album arrives sometime this year. His wife Kim Kardashian announced on Thursday night, January 7 that the rapper would give away free songs every week as part of his revived G.O.O.D. Fridays. The series was re-launched on the next day with two new tracks including "Real Friends".
The song features the soulful hook by Ty Dolla $ign and production from Frank Dukes, Boi 1da, Sevn Thomas and Mobb Deep's Havoc. On it, Kanye asks people around him if they're his "real friends" who stick with him until the end or fake friends who hang out with him for the profit and attention. "How many of us are real friends?" he wonders.
'Ye also treated fans to a preview of another song called "No More Parties in L.A.". Produced by Madlib, it includes a verse from Kendrick Lamar and sample of Ghostface Killah.
Kanye first launched G.O.O.D. Fridays in support of his acclaimed fifth album, 2010's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy". Before reviving the series, he dropped the Nike diss track "Facts" on New Year's Day.
