Lava's latest 4G LTE smartphone for the Indian market is the V5. The Phone runs Lava's proprietary Star OS 2.0 that is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, and the brand has promised Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the coming month.
It comes with CAT4 4G LTE connectivity, and will soon get VoLTE (voice over LTE) support via a software update. As for the specs, the device packs powerful innards, which is enough to take on the likes of Asus, Xiaomi, Lenovo, LeECO and more in the mid-range segment.
The Lava V5 sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood roars a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit processor aided by Mali-T720 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB.
For photography, it is equipped with 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, Samsung 3M2 ISOCELL sensor, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus), 5P Largan lens Blue glass filter and f/2.0 aperture. For snapping selfies you get a 8-megapixel front snapper with LED flash and 84-degree wide-angle lens. The phone comes with Lava’s MagicPix software, which offers several modes like Beauty-Fi, Wide ‘Selfie’, Night Pro, GIF Maker, and Intelligent Selfie.
The dual-SIM Lava V5 supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. A 3000mAh battery powers the device.
Priced at Rs. 11,499, the Lava V5 comes in White color, and is available through both offline and online channels across India.
