Full house that night

Arriving at Pho Vietz, it was really crowded with diners enjoying their meal. All tables were occupied with the majority being families of 4 or more. The word Pho itself means beef soup noodle, but they do offer lots of other delectable dishes. Pho Vietz serves an extensive range of mouth-watering cuisine, over 50 choices ranging from appetisers to rice, noodles, desserts and drinks.

Stock up on imported Vietnamese products

Just beside the entrance of Pho Vietz, they offer an array of imported Vietnamese groceries and products up for sale. Quite a variety is available ranging from the Vietnamese instant noodles, premium grade fish sauce, condiments and many more.

Vietnamese Prawn Salad - RM15.80

Kickstarting our meal at Pho Vietz, we were served with their Vietnamese Atiso Tea, one pot per person priced at RM6.20 per pax. The pot however, is good for up to two person, hot clear tea. It was followed by the crunchy Vietnamese Prawn Salad, a healthy mix of salad consisting of julienne carrots, coriander, mint, red chilli, thin rice noodles and sesame seed atop one big crunchy piece of prawn cracker. Sweet, sour and a tad spicy were the main tastes I could get from this salad dish.

Vietnamese Spring Roll - RM8.30

It's mandatory when dining at a Vietnamese restaurant to try out their version of the Fresh Prawn Roll. I've always been a fan of these translucent rice paper rolls. Packed with poached prawn, vermicelli noodles, carrots, cucumbers, chives and herbs, this refreshing dish goes very well with the sweet and savoury peanut dipping sauce. If you prefer something deep fried, then do try out their Vietnamese Spring Roll, with minced pork packed and wrapped into the rice roll and deep fried to perfection. Love the sweet flavours of the sauce and crunchy peanuts on top.

Next we had the Steamed Rice Crepe Rolls With Minced Pork and the Banh Mi Baguette (Vietnamese Baguette With Pork Ball). The Steamed Rice Crepe Rolls With Minced Pork reminded me of our chinese chee cheong fun, soft and thin with yummy minced pork inside. Banh Mi Baguette is known to be a very popular sandwich in Vietnam, where you get to choose from a variety of meat and vegetable fillings. Yummy stuff, especially the crispy crust of the sandwich.

A main dish fit for two to share, we tried the value-for-money set of seafood sour soup and caramel fish dish. The Vietnamese Sour Soup looked spicy but instead is a refreshing sweet and sour soup comprising of fresh prawns, and vegetables. It comes with a bowl of steamed jasmine rice. I like the caramel fish, where they used mackerel fish with white fillets. The savoury caramel sauce made all the difference!

It tastes very similar to our cantonese sar hor fun dish.
