Samsung takes aim at Apple Pay in a new ad for Samsung Pay featuring Hannibal Buress and Katz's Deli. Hannibal Buress + Samsung Pay + Katz’s Deli pastrami sandwich = hot take on an old classic.
With Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) and Near Field Communication (NFC) technologies, Samsung Pay works with most existing point-of-sale (POS) terminals. That means it works almost anywhere you can swipe your credit card or debit card, unlike Apple Pay which often requires an updated terminal. Buress shows this off in the ad, surprising the workers at Katz's, by paying for his pastrami sandwich via Samsung Pay.
