Archos Diamond 2 Plus, Diamond 2 Note phablets announced


France based smartphone maker Archos has added to more devices to its MWC 2016 product portfolio. The French company has announced the Diamond 2 Plus and Diamond 2 Note that runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs powerful innards. 

Archos Diamond 2 Plus
The Diamond 2 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS 2.5D curved glass display with DragonTrail glass protection and is powered by octa-core MediaTek P10 processor with Mali-T860 GPU, 4GB RAM along with 64GB internal storage, which can be increased up to 128GB via microSD card.

Camera-wise, it is equipped with 20-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Laser AF and f/2.2 aperture, and on the front there is a 8-megapixel camera with LED flash. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB Type-C supports. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery with Fast Charge support. There is also a fingerprint sensor and Hybrid Dual SIM slot on-board.
 

Archos Diamond 2 Note
The Archos Diamond 2 Note sports a bigger 6-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) IPS 2.5D display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 64-bit processor aided by PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB.

For photography, there is 16-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, PDAF and can record 4K videos. For clicking selfie you get a 84-degree wide angle 8-megapixel front snapper. For connectivity there is 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS support. Other features include Hybrid Dual SIM slot, Infrared LED for Remote support, and is fueled by a 3610mAh battery with Fast Charge support.

The Archos Diamond 2 Plus is priced at €249 / £199 / $229 ( Rs. 16,000), while the Archos Diamond 2 Note costs 299€ / £249 / $279 ( Rs. 19,000), and will go on sale in May.

The Archos Diamond 2 Plus and Diamond 2 Note will be showcased alongside the three Oxygen tablets and 50d Oxygen smartphone at the MWC 2016, Barcelona.
