Asus smartphones to receive Android Marshmallow in Q2 2016, shares refreshed list


Last year in November, Asus outed list of smartphones that will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The initial list includes five smartphones and their variants - PadFone S, ZenFone 2, ZenFone 2 Deluxe, ZenFone 2 Laser and ZenFone Selfie.

Now Asus has added two more devices to the list, the ZenFone Max and ZenFone Zoom and says that the update will roll out in the second quarter of 2016 (between April and June), but did not give an exact time frame.

Asus also says that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the afforementioned smartphone with replace existing ZenUI apps including Asus Messenger, Asus Mail an Asus Calendar with the Google versions — Messenger, Calendar and Gmail. However, you will have the option to revert to the ZenUI apps by performing a factory reset and download the Asus apps from the store.
